This week I am paired with Ramya who blogs about her culinary adventures in Ramya’s Recipes. Her blog has simple, easy n fuss free recipes that are hearty, comforting & elegant. The recipe I have picked from her lovely space is this delightful milkshake with apples and dates. I added some cinnamon powder to give it more pep. The sweetness of the dates is enough for the sugar rush , hence I did not add any sweetening agent like honey . We enjoyed this refreshing & fulfilling drink that was also given a thumbs up by my picky eaters !

Ingredients: (serves 2 tall glasses)

  • Seedless Dates – 10
  • Hot milk – 1/2 cup (to soak dates)
  • Apple – 1
  • Cold milk – 1.5 cups – as required
  • Cinnamon Powder – to taste
  • Honey – to drizzle (optional)

Preparation:

Soak dates in hot milk for about 30 minutes. I had them soaked for more than an hour and that gave the shake a fine colour. Cut apple into pieces and along with the soaked dates blend this well in a mixer/food processeor. Add cold milk to this mix and blend again. Add cinnamon powder to taste and pour in to a glass and drizzle honey if you wish. Enjoy !
