Tasted this yummy dish sometime back in a restaurant and had been itching to make this at home. The recipe is really easy, though am not sure whether i recreated the same magic in my kitchen. Nevertheless it tasted good with Garlic Bread and in my daughter’s words was nice for the brunch.

Here goes the recipe:-

What do we need—-

  • Peas (Fresh or Frozen) – 250gms
  • Butter – 1tbsp
  • Refined Flour (maida) – 1tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Pepper – to taste
  • Milk- 1/2 cup
  • Sugar – 1/2tsp
Method:-

Let the peas cook tender. Drain and keep aside–

In a kadai (wok) add the butter and as it melts, stir in the flour, salt and pepper.

Let it blend well. Now add the milk and sugar gradually.Bring it to a boil and keep on stirring till the sauce thickens.

It probably takes a minute or two.If you feel the sauce has become too thick, add a tablespoon of milk or more. Now add the cooked peas in to the sauce.Let it mix well and take off flame.

To make it more interesting you can probably add in some shredded cheese or some herbs like thyme—-will bring some variations next time this dish visits my kitchen—-

Serve with Toast or Garlic Bread. Kids would have a delightful and healthy breakfast with the bread toast.

Enjoy!

I'm sure that would be a lovely lunch or breakfast for kids. I fondly remember weekend lunches of fresh peas from my own childhood…
